"Christian education is life studied, broadened beyond its immediate interests, deepened from its shallow activities, interpreted from a Christian perspective and directed toward a Christian purpose."
~ Roger L. Shinn |
Here at First Baptist, we seek to provide opportunities for spiritual renewal, for Bible Study, and for theological exploration, designed to help guide each person to "experience transformation into the image of Jesus." Transformation is a pilgrimage of growth that embodies all of life's experiences. Transformation is holistic, recognizing the importance of heart and mind, body and soul, in experiencing the fullness of God and in responding to God's call. Individuals are invited through the Christian Education Ministry to explore the intersection between their faith and everyday life.
Life today is busy, filled with many choices that compete for our attention. If you are searching for something more meaningful in which to invest your life, First Baptist has something to offer you. A wide variety of options for Christian formation are available at various times throughout the year. Some are weekly and some are seasonal. We want to help you find an authentic place where you will feel cared for, challenged and inspired.

At First Baptist Church of Asheville, we believe that authentic community is essential to our spiritual journey.
Connection Groups are a great way to meet new friends, to grow in your relationship with God, to have fun, and to make a difference. Everyone is welcome to participate in a connection group, whether a member, a friend of First Baptist from another church, or folks who are simply interested in a topic or event being offered.
We hope you find a group that interests you - a group where you will feel cared for, challenged and inspired.
