The goal of First Baptist Church Missions Committee is to develop interactive projects which integrate growth in Christ with assisting the needs of others. In keeping with our church's mission statement of being a presence "at the intersection of the culture and the Kingdom of God," these ministries currently focus on urban outreach projects.
Care Groups are a way for First Baptist Church members to interact in a caring and Christian loving manner with other members of First Baptist Church who have specific needs. There is a place and need for anyone who is interested in being a part of this intercongregational group. For more information on these Care Groups please contact Roy & Mary Feringa (645-7016).
Disaster Relief Ministry was created in response to the overwhelming needs in the wake of our recent devastating hurricane seasons. A rapid-response team is being developed to entitled local and non-local disaster relief. The Disaster Relief Group is a multi-functional group that works in partnership with other groups or independently depending on the needs of the area and the skill level of the volunteer. There are training sessions formed for people interested in indepth ministry, and other disaster relief trips in the planning stages. Please contact Glenn Pierce (645-4802) if you have an interest in learning more about this Missions ministry.
Feeding the Hungry is an ongoing effort to reach the elderly and homeless community of urban Asheville through the monthly Lunch at the Crossroads and Meal-on-Wheels programs. Please contact Tim Gillespie (277-1411) or Rev. Eddie Morgan (252-4781) if you would like to help in this Missions ministry.
Missions Calendar is currently in the development stage.

Begun as an outreach of First Baptist Church, the effort has grown to become a regional effort with the founders of this ministry being appointed as Cooperative Baptist Missionaries to continue the needs of these people. First Baptist Church is an active participant in the larger Western North Carolina Slavic Ministries.
