Adult Music Ministry
Adult Choir
Rehearsal: Wednesdays, 7:00 p.m., Crocker Auditorium
This mixed-voice choir is the centerpiece of all music groups in the church. Open to adults 18 years old and older, it serves as the primary choir for the 11:00am worship service. Seasonal concerts are presented with orchestra, including masterworks, contemporary choral pieces, and hymn settings.
Concert Choir
Rehearsal: Sundays, 7:00 p.m., Crocker Auditorium
This choir is formed through invitation and presents concerts in the life of the church and in church, professional and academic settings beyond. The choir's literature focuses on great choral literature and is particularly known for its rendering of American sacred folk idioms.
Jubilee Choir
Rehearsal: Tuesdays, 1:00 p.m., Crocker Auditorium
This choir is open to adults 50 years old and older. Singing choral literature in a variety of styles, the choir leads regularly in the worship and concert life of the church. Activities include an annual retreat and bi-annual mission tours to the vibrant retirement communities of the Asheville area.
Adult Handbell Choir
Rehearsal: Sundays, 6:00 p.m., Handbell Rehearsal Room
Ringing five octaves of handbells and three octaves of handchimes, this group is open to adults 18 years and older through inquiry. The choir leads monthly in the worship life of the church, presents seasonal concerts, and participates in state/regional handbell festivals.
Brass Ensemble
Rehearsal: Sundays, 6:00 p.m., Crocker Auditorium
Open to adults 18 years and older by audition, this group leads monthly in the worship life of the church and presents seasonal concerts. Literature includes a wide diversity of brass repertoire.
Music Ministry Leadership
Opportunities are numerous for adults to lead in the children's/youth choir programs, assist with congregational conducting, accompany from the piano or other instrument, or participate in a wide variety of administrative and creative roles. |
