A Prayer For the First Weeks of College
I hope you have all settled into the semester and gotten over syllabus shock. I would sometimes have to take a day just to say, 'I think I can…I think I can,' when I got all those expectations in a few days. So, breathe deep and know that you only have to eat this elephant called Spring Semester one bite at a time. One might wonder if Jesus ever got anxious when the rabbi asked him to memorize whole passages of the Hebrew scriptures. My prayer will be, 'Help the due dates to come more slowly and the study hours to pass more quickly.' Summer is going to be great. You have given us some great feedback about what you hope for in the summer season. We'll be getting some dates scheduled and get those out to you by April 1 so that you can be planning. My goal is to create a few key times and some weekly times when you can reconnect with FBCA friends. Everyone won't do everything. But, we can at least have a pattern. I'll be around for some of these. Many will be times you are ready to hang out away from parent type people.
We are working on Perry County. Most people are out of finals that week or do not have one on the last day. At this point, I believe the schedule will stay the same. We may try to carpool a group down a day late if that helps. It is going to be a great trip and a wonderful way to begin a summer, serving together.
Let me know if you need something. We are working on some dates to get you all together for lunch/dinner in your given areas. I'll send something out ASAP. Let me know about other concerns or questions. My number is 712-8623. You can reach Amanda at 252-4781. She knows the schedule as well. Come by and say hello if you are in town.

looking forward
Plan Ahead for Summer .10!
Begin and end your summer with your friends at FBCA! We are planning two special events and opportunities to connect throughout the summer. Here are two things that need to be on your calendar:
Perry County 2010
May 11-16 (Tuesday-Sunday) - Head out to Perry County to make a difference. Join your friends in construction and connecting with the people of our mission focus for 2010. Get your summer started off right by sharing with others. Please sign up by Easter!
Lake James
August 6-7 (Friday-Saturday)- End the summer with a cool dip in Lake James. Join your friends at the Broadways for a time of fellowship and support for one another as we head into another year of school.
There will be more opportunities to catch a movie or head out to get dinner. Sunday morning Bible study will meet throughout the Summer 2010. Let us know more about what you want as you look forward to these months of work and play.
